Hands up everyone who’s excited about a new game? Did I mention it’s a Pacman game – no, keep the hands up, I want to count them!
Oh, I see.
Well, whether you like it or not, Pacman is to be wheeled out again next year for some 30th birthday celebrations when he really should be enjoying his retirement. Chance’d be a fine thing – on the bright side, this could potentially be good given its all being overseen by Hirokazu Yasuhara who has references the original Sonic games and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune on his glowing CV.
Hopefully they won’t make it a disastrous 3d adventure, and stick to the 2d variants on the original which have played well in recent years. 2007’s Pac-Man Championship Edition was a hugely addictive addition to Live Arcade, and Pac Man Vs on the Gamecube (one player on Gameboy as Pacman, the rest as ghosts on the TV chasing him, without always knowing where he is) is just begging for a WiiWare download.
Are you excited about a new Pacman game, or do you think the yellow blob should be put out to pasture? Comment away, friends.
