Back in the autumn of 2006 when the Xbox 360 was light on quality releases, Dead Rising brought a smile to the faces of everyone over 18.
Despite an odd save game system and an unforgiving time limit, it remains to this day one of my favourite Xbox 360 titles. So last month officially became a good month for me when it was announced that Dead Rising 2 is well underway, and some more details surfaced like so many shambling undead.
The short Dead Rising 2 press release revealed a few juicy details: firstly the sequel is set several years after the first game – the virus was not successfully contained, thus justifying a lucrative sequel.
Secondly, said virus has made it out of the small town mall and into the ‘gambling paradise of Fortune City’.
The press release promises tens of thousands of zombies to annihilate in all new and unusual ways: a fact that should bring a smile to the face of anyone who, like me, took out an entire hoard of zombies with a parasol or with a single well aimed bowling ball in the first game.
Perhaps the most interesting nugget of info from the press release though is that it’s no longer an Xbox exclusive. PC and Playstation 3 owners (sorry Wii fans), Dead Rising 2 is shambling its way to you too… prepare the shotgun!
